If you try to play any PS5 game with or without using GamePacks or scripts, the controller outputs may seem to work fine at first, but they will become scrambled after a few seconds/minutes and disconnect after 8-10 minutes. This is due to no Auth/PS4 Speciality.
Re-follow the set-up instructions.
PLAYSTATION 5 OWNERS: It’s really important to understand that controller security is handled differently depending on if it’s a PS4 or PS5 game, and also depending on if you are using a DualSense or DualShock 4 controller. To circumvent this security, there are two special workarounds for playing PS5 games: PS4 Speciality Mode and the new PS Remote Play.
If you do not correctly setup either of these PS5 connection methods, or ignore the instructions by connecting your Zen directly to a PS5, a controller connected to A1, and the emulator output set to AUTO (or manually set to PLAYSTATION 4/5), you can except the following failed results:
- DualSense controller connected to A1 (with a GamePack or script loaded) will seem to work fine in the PS5 menu, but once you load a PS4 or PS5 game, the outputs will corrupt after a few seconds or minutes and will eventually disconnect.
- DualSense controller connected to A1 (no GamePacks or scripts loaded) will seem to work fine after loading either PS4 or PS5 games, but it will fail the security handshake after 8-10 minutes and disconnect.
- DualShock 4 controller connected to A1 (with a GamePack or script loaded) will seem to work fine in the PS5 menu, but once you load a PS4 game the outputs will corrupt after a few seconds or minutes and will eventually disconnect. The controller also may not work in any PS5 games at all. It may not even work with some PS4 games.
- DualShock 4 controller connected to A1 (no GamePacks or scripts loaded) will seem to work fine after loading a PS4 game, but it will fail the security handshake after 8-10 minutes and disconnect. The controller may not work in any PS5 games at all. It may not even work in some PS4 games.
