Xbox Compatible Controller Polling Rates + VM Speed Reference

Xbox Controller Polling Rates & VM Speed Reference

This guide provides polling rate and VM speed recommendations for various Xbox-compatible controllers when used with Cronus Zen on both Xbox consoles and PC.

  • Controller Polling & VM Speeds (Xbox Mode vs PC Mode):
    • Razer Wolverine V2: 250 Hz → VM Speed: -6 (4ms) on both Xbox & PC.
    • Razer Wolverine V3 Pro/TE: 250 Hz (Xbox) → VM Speed: -6 (4ms), 1000 Hz (PC) → VM Speed: -9 (1ms).
    • Nacon Revolution X Unlimited: 250 Hz (Xbox) → VM Speed: -6 (4ms), 1000 Hz (PC) → VM Speed: -9 (1ms).
    • GameSir G7: 250 Hz → VM Speed: -6 (4ms) on Xbox & PC; 1000 Hz (PC) → VM Speed: -9 (1ms).

    • Official Xbox Controllers: 125 Hz → VM Speed: -2 (8ms) on both Xbox & PC.
    • Thrustmaster eSwap X2 Pro: 250 Hz (Xbox) → VM Speed: -6 (4ms), 500 Hz (PC) → VM Speed: -7 (2ms with custom overclock).
  • Key Notes:
    • Xbox Mode: Controller connected to Xbox One/Series console.
    • PC Mode: Controller connected via USB to Windows PC.
    • Polling Rate Overclocking: PC supports higher polling rates (up to 1000 Hz), but may require overclocking utilities like Hidusbf.
    • Console Use: Do not install PC utilities on consoles. VM speed ranges from 10ms (0) to 4ms (-6) depending on the controller.
    • Compatibility Disclaimer: This list is a guide, but compatibility with Cronus Zen is not guaranteed. Always research your controller’s capabilities before purchase.

Important: You don’t need a new controller to use the Dark Matter script. It works with any controller that supports the corresponding VM speed. Even controllers with 8ms polling (125 Hz) are fully compatible with the script.
